The Sabine Index - Andrew Jackson Burkett

  25 Nov 1949 - Funeral services for Andrew Jackson Burkett,
86, retired merchant planter, who died Sunday night at his home
in Converse, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Converse Baptist
church with the pastor, Rev. Jerry Schmucker, officiating,
assisted by Revs. L. K. Hartsfield and Nelson Mitchell.

  Mr. Burkett is survived by a son, Tony W. Burkett, Rodessa;
six daughters, Mrs. G. W. Hangis, Shreveport, Mrs. Melton
Pickett, Bastrop, Mrs. B. E. May, Jr., Clarnece, Mrs. C. B.
McGee, Weatchie; Mrs. M. J. Paul and Mrs. E. A. Hubier, Sr., both
of Converse; a sister, Mrs. H. E. Patterson, Mendenhall, Miss.;
21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
