All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Annie Belle Burkett Funeral services for Annie Belle Burkett, 86, were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan., 8, at Fellowship Baptist Church in the Oak Grove community near Converse. Rev. Marshall Ingle, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, officiated, and assisting was Rev. Billy Burkett, pastor of Springhill Baptist Church. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Mrs. Burkett passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 1995, at DeSoto General Hospital, following a brief illness. She was married to E. W. "Shorty" Burkett, who preceded her in death 17 years ago. A loving mother and grandmother, Mrs. Burkett was also preceded in death by a son, Ernest Wayne Burkett. She had lost a sister, Mary Grice; and brother, Thomas Jones, several years earlier. Survivors include her son, Will J. Burkett and wife Annie Jane of Converse; grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Lucille Alexander of Gloster; two brothers, E. W. "Casey" Jones of Converse, and Fred Jones of Baytown, Tex.; and sister-in-law, Lucille Jones of Baton Rouge. Mrs. Burkett leaves to honor her memory, three grandsons, and two granddaughters, Lynn Burkett and wife Kim of Converse, Ben Burkett of Converse, Norman Burkett, and his sister, Sheila of Provencal, Cathy Burkett Singletary and husband Tim of Converse, and Carla Burkett Ebarb and husband Kevin of Leesville. She will be sadly missed by loving great grandchildren, Ashley, Autumn, and Adam Burkett, Dagan, and Gareth Singletary, and Kasee Jo, and Nikki Burkett.
