Brasher 19 Apr 1957 - Charles W. Brasher, 77, a retired planter, father of Mrs. L. A. Phelps of Zwolle, passed away at a clinic in Marion on Sunday, March 31, at 3:35 a.m. following a short illness. Funeral services were held Monday, April 1, at the Marion Baptist church with the Rev. A. A. Nelson, pastor of the Sterlington Baptist church officiating. Mr. Brasher, a life-long resident of Marion, was a member of the Oakland Baptist church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Bertha L. Brasher of Marion; three sons, W. N. Brasher of West Monroe, Janie F. Brasher and Mack B. Brasher of Bastrop; three daughters, Mrs. W. B. Smith of Magnolia, Ark., Mrs. C. W. English in Sterlington and Mrs. L. A. Phelps of Zwolle; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Moore and Miss Alice Brasher of Monroe; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Interment was in the Old Union Cemetery under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral home of Farmerville.
