Mr. Author Edward Byrd

  Mr. Author Edward Byrd, 91, died Saturday, March 20 at Doctors
Hospital in Shreveport.

  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 21 at Warren
Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Pleasant Hill
Cemetery (Ward 2). The Rev. Wilton Anthony and the Rev. Ottis Branam
officiated.

  Survivors include six daughters, Mary Lee Palmer and Mellionee
Flores, both of Shreveport, Charlene Owens of St. Paul, Minn., Evelyn
Griffin of Many, Dorothy Langley of Kinder and Charlotte Barnes of
Clinton, Miss.; two sons, R. J. Byrd of DeRidder and Jerry Byrd of
Odessa, Texas; one sister, Pauline Moore of Hornbeck; 19 grandchildren;
28 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Mr. Byrd was
preceded in death by his wife, Emmie Byrd and daughter, Julie Marie
Byrd.
