Byrd 5 Jun 1936 - Last rites for Jason L. Byrd, who was injured in an auto accident in Shreveport last Saturday, expired Sunday at 2:45, were held at Ft. Jesup Monday evening at two o'clock, Rev. J. M. Pate officiating. Mr. Byrd was manager of the Louisiana Oil Refining corporation's station in the 1300 block of Louisiana avenue, is survived by the widow, Mrs. Susie Smith Byrd; one son, James Byrd; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Byrd, three brothers, Julian and C. B. of Many and T. J. of Shreveport; five sisters, Mrs. Riley McCormick and Mrs. Ed McGarrahan, both of Daisetta, Texas, Mrs. O. W. J. Reynolds and Mrs. E. J. Boone, both of Shreveport, and Mrs. Buck Horton of Many. Active pallbearers were Garland Elliott, Marian Campbell, Paul Mullins, Frank Holt, Fred Looney, Ira Hemphill, Jere Turnitin and J. E. Noble.
