The Sabine Index - Mrs. R. L. Byrd 
  
  25 Jun 1948 - Mrs. R. L. Byrd, age 64, passed away at her home 
in Toro community after a brief illness. Funeral services wee 
held from Old Pleasant Hill Baptist church 2 p.m. Wednesday by 
Rev. Martin. Interment followed under direction Massingill 
funeral home. 
  
  Surviving relatives include: husband, R. L. Byrd, Toro; sons, 
Arthur of Toro, Clarence of Dess and Alfred of U. S. army in 
Japan; daughter, Mrs. Jennie Stewart, Leesville, Mrs. Becky 
Vogel, Florien; Mrs. Ruby Self, Hornbeck, Mrs. Pauline Roe, 
Gulfport, Miss.; brother, Joe McNeely, Toro; sisters, Mesdames 
Nancy and Mary Byrd, Hornbeck, Lela Owens, Hornbeck; 17 
grandchildren.
