The Sabine Index - Rufus L. Byrd

  1 Mar 1957 - Funeral services for Rufus L. Byrd, 80, who passed
away at his home near Hornbeck, Feb. 22 was conducted at Pleasant
Hill Baptist church at 11 a.m. Feb. 24 with Rev. Robert Graham
and Rev. H. M. Martin officiating. Interment was in church
cemetery under the direction of Warren Funeral home.

  Survivors are sons, Arthur E. Byrd and Clarence Byrd, both of
Florien, Alfred Byrd of Fort Ord. Calif.; daughters, Mrs. G. A.
Stewart of Leesville, Mrs. Becky Vogel of Florien, Mrs. Ruby
Self, Hornbeck, Mrs. Pauline Nelms of Hornbeck; brothers,
Fletcher Byrd of Florien, Joe Byrd of Mansfield, D. Vester Byrd
of Toro; sister, Mrs. Susan Bass of Hornbeck, 25 grandchildren,
10 great-grandchildren.
