Byrd is survived by his widow, Mrs. Gussie Byrd of Florien, three sons, Lincoln Byrd of Port Neches, Tex.; Neely Howard Byrd of Groves, Tex., and Harold Byrd, Jr. of Port Arthur, Tex.; one daughter, Mrs. Lucille Byrd Magart of Shreveport; a brother Willie Byrd of Hornbeck; three sisters, Mrs. Estelle Ridgeway of Hornbeck, Mrs. Blanche Evans of Florien, and Mrs. Vennie Johnson of Port Arthur, 9 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Sunday, June 23, at 4 p.m., with the Rev. Wilton Anthony, the Rev. Johnny Rhodes, and the Rev. Roy Clark officiating. Burial was in the Old Pleasant Hill Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Nelly Byrd, Davic Magart, Jerald Byrd, Glen Byrd, Teddy Byrd, and Donald Byrd.
