Mrs. Cora Byrd

  Mrs. Cora Byrd, 97, of Shreveport, died on Tuesday, Feb. 4,
following an extended illness.

  Mrs. Byrd is survived by two sons, Julian Byrd of Many, and T.
J. Byrd of Shreveport; five daughters, Mrs. Florence Reynolds,
Mrs. Viola Boone, and Mrs. Mae Horton, all of Shreveport, Mrs.
Lela McGarran of Liberty, Tex., and Mrs. Lola McComic of
Daisyetta, Tex.; a sister, Mrs. Florence Sims of Beaumont, Tex.;
12 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. A son, C. B. Byrd
Jr. of Many, preceded her in death.

  Funeral services were held at the Warren Meadows Funeral Chapel
on Thursday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Bill Sirman
officiating. Burial was at the Fort Jesup Cemetery, under the
direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Pallbearers were John Byrd, E. C. McGarran, Dash Byrd, Harold
Byrd, Buford Cole, and Georg Joe Boyens.
