All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Sabine Index - Mrs. Lillie Worsham Byrd 25 Feb 1944 - Funeral rites for Mrs. Lillie Worsham Byrd, age 71 years, were held at two o'clock at Fort Jesup. Rev. C. W. Williams officiated. Interment was in Fort Jesup cemetery under the direction of Dennis Green funeral home. Pallbearers were: T. M. Phillips, Wallace DeLatin, J. M. Petty, T. J. Curtrer, C. B. Byrd, Jr., and E. E. Smith. Mrs. Byrd passed away at the family home, three miles east of Many, following a heart attack, was the wife of the late A. S. Byrd. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Ada Duggan, Mrs. Lois Holland of Many, Miss Allie Byrd and Mrs. Mattie Gardner of New Orleans, Mrs. Lucy Jones and Mrs. Lena Lohman of Shreveport; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Harvey Byrd of Neosho, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Easley of Smithville, Texas, and Mrs. Adie McBrown of Beaumont, Texas. Mrs. Byrd was one of Many's best loved citizens. Her influence will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
