Jessie Byrd

  Jessie Byrd, 86, of Vowells Mill, died Aug. 26, at 2:05 a.m.,
after a short illness.

  Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 27, at 2 p.m., in the
Cedron Baptist Church, with the Rev. Luther Despino officiating.
Burial was in the Cedron Cemetery, under the direction of Warren
Meadows Funeral Home of Many.

  Surviving relatives are two sons, Herman Byrd of Columbia, La.,
and Huey P. Byrd of Hughes Spring, Texas; four daughters, Mrs.
Clara V. Rhodes of Gatesville, Tex., Mrs. Doris Bynog of
Shreveport, Mrs. Glenda Gale Tennison of Beaumont, Tex., and Mrs.
Clovis Whitehead of Natchitoches; one brother, George Byrd of
Vowells Mill; 23 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
