All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Elton Byrd Funeral services for Elton Byrd of Hornbeck, were held in Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 2 p.m. Burial was in the Clear Water Cemetery of Florien. Officiating were the Rev. C. H. Welch, and the Rev. Roy Dowden. Mr. Byrd died Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 8:15 a.m., in the Veteran's Hospital of Shreveport. He was 52. A veteran of World War II, Mr. Byrd was an employee of the La. Dept. of Highways. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Paul Byrd of Hornbeck; two daughters, Kayla Strickland of Anacoco, and Miss Karen Byrd of Hornbeck; one brother, Melton Byrd of Florien; and four sisters, Mrs. Louie Briggs of Pineville, Mrs. Sally Young, and Mrs. Nellie Craft, both of Alexandria, and Mrs. Margaret Killian of Leesville.
