The Rev. Lewis Ormsted officiated. Burial was at Leesville Cemetery. Mr. Britt was deceased on arrival at Byrd Memorial Hospital in Leesville, at 12:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 28, 1984. He was a native of Pleasant Hill, La., and had been a resident of Leesville for 40 years. He was a member of the Grace Methodist Church of Leesville, where he had served on the Board of Stewards, and was a past chairman of the board. He was active in the Civilian Club of Leesville, in which he was a charter member, and served as the first president of the organization. Mr. Britt worked in promoting his favorite organization, the Association of Retarded Citizens. He was associated for many years with Continental Trailways, and was a retired Leesville businessman. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jewel Turner Britt of Leesville; one son, Ronald T. Britt of Anacoco, La.; one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Ann Swart of Ruston, La.; one sister, Mrs. Orla Dickerson of San Antonio, Texas; and a grandson, Wesley Swart of Ruston.
