Mrs. Christene Byrd

  Services for Mrs. Christene Byrd, were held at Mt. Carmel
Baptist Church, on Nov. 22, at 10 a.m., with Rev. G. Pat Jackson
officiating. Burial was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, under the
direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Mrs. Byrd, 78, died on November 20, 1986, in Sabine Medical
Center in Many.

  She is survived by three sons, Ottis Byrd of Bakersfield,
Calif., Floyd Byrd of Shreveport, and Larry Byrd of Houston; one
brother, Raydon Thaxton of Mt. Carmel; three sisters, Inez Davis
of Florien, Myrtis Hendricks of Woodland, Ga., and Edith Thigpen
of Shreveport; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and
a host of nieces and nephews.

  Pallbearers were Alan Skinner, Stan Self, Lynn Weldon, Tony
Stewart, Mark Stewart, and Wesley Ryals.
