All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mr. Troy Elijah Britt (Photo) Mr. Troy Elijah Britt, 93, of Benton, died Saturday, August 30, at Willis Knighton Bossier Health Center. Mr. Britt began his extensive educational career at Many High School, where he served as teacher and coach. He eventually served as Principal of Negreet and Belmont High Schools. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Many, and served as a Deacon for 21 years. Following his retirement, he was extended the honor of serving on the board, as "Deacon Emeritus". Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 2, at First Baptist Church in Many, with interment following at Many City Cemetery. The Rev. Joe Ratcliff, the Rev. William Moon, and Dr. Ed Scott officiated. Survivors include one brother, James Alfred Britt of Benton; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Mr. Britt was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Aldridge Britt. Pallbearers were Glenn Owers, W. R. Miller, James M. Britt, Dr. Allen German, Robbie Lang, and Loy Wilson. Honorary pallbearers were Melton Wright, Huey Dowden, Charles Haynes, and Jack Ellis. Warren Meadows, Many, La.
