All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Elaine Litton Britt Mrs. Elaine Litton Britt, 74, a resident of Greenwood for 40 years, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, at Riverview Care Center in Bossier City, after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Britt was a retired bus driver for Caddo Parish Schools. She was a member of Greenwood Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 26, at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, with interment following at Mitchell Cemetery near Converse. The Rev. Leland Lawford, pastor of First Baptist Church of Waskom, officiated. Survivors include three sons, William Danny Britt and fiancée Mary Cooper of Greenwood, Thomas Jerry (Sam) Britt and wife Annie of Waskom, Texas, and Terry Lynn Britt and wife Yvonne of Noble; two daughters, Betty Lindsey and husband Don of Ruston, and Peggy Osburn and husband Louis of Tyler, Texas; one sister, Mary Fern Stewart of South Houston, Texas; one brother, W. C. Litton of Buna, Texas; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Britt was preceded in death by her husband, Simon P. Britt; parents, H. T. and Maggie Litton; and brothers, J. L. Litton, and Mac Arthur Litton. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Shreveport, La.
