Emma Byrd

  Miss Emma Byrd of Vowells Mill, 86, died at 10:30 p.m., in
Natchitoches, June 14, following an extended illness.

  She is survived by her brother, G. W. Byrd of Vowells Mill; a
half brother, T. J. Byrd, also of Vowells Mill; and a number of
nieces and nephews.

  Her body was taken to New Cedron Baptist Church at 3:30 p.m.,
Monday, June 15, to lie in state until service time on Tuesday,
June 16.

  Funeral services began at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Bill Nosler
officiating. Burial was in New Cedron Cemetery, under the
direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many.
