Dead is Staff Sgt. Thomas Jefferson Barrett Jr. His family here received a telegram from the Defense Dept. on Nov. 18, about the death. Sgt. Barrett was a member of the First Calvary Division. His body was scheduled to arrive in the states sometime Wednesday, and was going to be shipped on to Many. Sgt. Barrett had been in the Army 14 or 15 years. He had served during the Korean Conflict. He had been in Viet Nam almost three months before the time of his death. It is ironical that Sgt. Barrett wrote a letter to his family on the same day that he died. He was married to the former Margie Palmer, and they have three children. Other survivors include his parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
