"Nubin" Bridges, 85, of Pleasant Hill, were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 2, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Weed officiated. Mr. Bridges, an oilfield roughneck, died Wednesday, May 30, at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, after a short illness. He was born in Mitchell, and was a lifelong resident of Pleasant Hill. He was of Baptist affiliation. He is survived by six sons, Jack Bridges of Bossier City, Sam Bridges of Sara Land, Alabama, C. L. Bridges of Keithville, John Bridges of DeBerry, Tex., and Kenneth Bridges of Winnsboro; one daughter, Mrs. Nell Galles of DeBerry, Tex.; three brothers, and three sisters.
