  Billy J. Bridges - January 28, 1988

  Services for Mr. Billy J. Bridges, 56, of Elm Grove were held at
10 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, at Rose-Neath's Marshall Street
Chapel with Rev. Gerry Palmer, pastor of Elm Grove Baptist Church
officiating. Burial with graveside services were at 1 p.m.
Tuesday at Spring Ridge Cemetery at Pleasant Hill.

  Mr. Bridges died Saturday January 23, 1988 at Highland Hospital
following a short illness. A native of Pleasant Hill, he had
lived in the Bossier City/Shreveport area since 1965. He was an
Insurance Agent and owner of Taylortown Antiques. He was a member
of elm Grove Baptist Church, a graduate of Hardin-Simmons
University and Southwestern Theological Seminary and a veteran of
the U. S. Army.

  He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Bridges.

  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marlene Bridges of Elm Grove;
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. P. Bridges of Pleasant Hill; two
sons, Scott Bridges and wife Linda of Maurice and Tim Bridges of
Maurice; one daughter, Nancy Mitchel and husband Larry of Elm
Grove; three brothers, Joe Bridges of Pleasant Hill, Jimmy
Bridges of Franklin and Jesse Bridges of Winnfield; three
grandchildren, Lacy Mitchell, Lindsey Mitchell and Matthew
Bridges.

  The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Baptist
Children's Home.
