  Funeral services for Mrs. Susie Martin Birdwell, 89, of
Marthaville, were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 25, 1985,
at the Beulah Methodist Church near Marthaville. Mrs. Birdwell
passed away Tuesday, December 24, at the L. S. Huckaby Memorial
Hospital in Coushatta. Burial was in McCaskill Cemetery near
Marthaville. Rev. Marvin Free, and Foster Jennings officiated at
the service.

  Survivors include four sons, Percy Birdwell of Coushatta; Frank
Birdwell, G. W. Birdwell, and Johnny Birdwell, all of
Marthaville; four daughters, Elizabeth "Red" Lindsey of
Coushatta; Gertie Kilgore, Mae Bell Brown, and Ella D. Townsend,
all of Marthaville one foster son, Frank "Tobe" Alford; 29
grandchildren; 58 great grandchildren; and three great-great
grandchildren.

  Services were under the direction of Rockett-Nettles Funeral
Home of Coushatta.
