Officiating was Rev. Jimmie E. Hefner, pastor of Ford Park Baptist Church. Burial was at Forest Park West Mr. Bardwell was a native of Pleasant Hill, La., and a resident of Shreveport since 1935. He was retired from Libby Owen Ford, owner of Bardwell Marina, and was in the Nursery business for the past four years. He was a member of the Congregational Methodist Church of Pleasant Hill, La., the American Legion, Moose Lodge, president of the Friendship Academy Athletic Association, Shreveport Boots and Saddle Club, Greenwood, and Southside Riding Club, and Veteran of WWII. Mr. Bardwell died Wednesday, July 16, 1986, at Schumpert Medical Center, following a lengthy illness. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Wooley Bardwell; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy Lenn and Cecil E. Gates; and one grandson, William "Bubba" Gates, all of Shreveport; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Herman and Anna Bardwell of Shreveport, and Nuel J. and Eddie Bardwell of New York State; one sister and brother-in-law, Juanita Bardwell and William Cullen Coleman of Benton; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Herb Matteson, Connie Robertson, Ron O'Quinn, James Perser, A. J. Bennett, and Harold Leyda. Honorary pallbearers were Gary Mobley, Mark Mobley, Dale Coleman, Bill Wooley, and Randy Wooley.
