All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Odell "Red" Birdwell (Photo) Services for Mr. Odell "Red" Birdwell, 65, of Greenwood, were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 17, at Jennings Chapel Congregational Methodist Church near Marthaville, with the Rev. Foster Jennings officiating, assisted by the Rev. Kenny Martin, and Dr. John Cotner. Burial will be at Bethany Cemetery. Visitation at the church began at 4 p.m., Sunday. Arrangements were under the direction of Rose-Neath's Mansfield Chapel. Mr. Birdwell, a native of Marthaville, and a resident of Greenwood for the past 30 years, died Saturday, Feb. 15, in Shreveport, following a long illness. He was a retired iron worker. He was preceded in death by one son, Huey Birdwell. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jean Birdwell of Greenwood; his mother, Mrs. Lottie Birdwell of Marthaville, La.; three sons, Mr. Roy Birdwell of Houston, Mr. Bruce Birdwell of Texarkana, Mr. Gary Birdwell of Robeline; two daughters, Mrs. Linda Clarkston of Natchitoches, Ms. Carolyn Birdwell of Shreveport; six brothers, Hoyt, Raymond, Harvey, Herman, Vernon, and Wilmer Birdwell, all of Marthaville; seven grandchildren. Pallbearers were nephews.
