J. T. Brewton

  Services for J. T. "Jake" Brewton, 62 of Haughton, were held at
10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 12, in the Bossier City Chapel of the
Rose-Neath Funeral Home. The Rev. H. A. Smith, pastor of Doyline
United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Hill Crest
Cemetery. Mr. Brewton died Sunday, Sept. 10, in Bossier City
General Hospital, following a brief illness.

  He was a native of Bienville Parish, and had been a resident of
Haughton 23 years. Mr. Brewton was a superintendent for Brown
Builders of Bossier City, was a former paying contractor, a
member of the Queensborough Baptist Church in Shreveport, and a
Shriner.

  Survivors include his widow; Inez Brewton of Haughton; mother,
Virgie Brewton of Friendship; daughter, Ginger Smith of Bossier
City; sisters, Vera Hall of Friendship, and Mrs. Odis Jones of
Many; and two grandchildren.
