Mrs. J. M. (Vergie) Brewton

  Services for Mrs. J. M. (Vergie) Brewton, 94, of Friendship,
were held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 1, at the Friendship Baptist
Church. The Rev. Homer Ivey, and the Rev. Robert Leach
officiated. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery. Plans were under
the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

  Mrs. Brewton died Wednesday, March 30, 1983, at Heritage Manor
Nursing Home in Many, after a long illness.

  She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Vera Bea Hall of
Friendship, and Mrs. Allene Jones of Many; three grandchildren;
and five great grandchildren.
