The Rev. Jerry Schmucker, and the Rev. James Miller officiated. Burial was at Converse Cemetery, under the direction of Drewett Funeral Home in Mansfield, La. Mr. Britton died Sunday, September 22, 1985, at the DeSoto General Hospital in Mansfield, after a lengthy illness. He was a lifelong resident of Converse. He was a construction worker. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucille Bass Britton of Converse; two daughters, Betty Scott of Lafayette, and Josephine Martin of Tyler, Texas; four sisters, Stella Cherene of Converse, May Myers of Pineland, Texas, Ethel Booker of Logansport, and Ruby Sherrod of New Caney, Texas; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
