Hastings, Neb., died Feb. 6, 2003, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Neb. He was born Dec. 26, 1938, in Center, Texas, to Elbert and Verlene (Randolf) Brittain. He graduated from high school and college, receiving his Masters of Science Degree. He was a farmer, and also taught in Louisiana. He served in the United States Navy from July 2, 1958 until June 14, 1962. On May 12, 1969, he married Charlotte Isgitt. He was a member of Snowy Range Baptist Church, Laramie, Wyoming, and was a 32nd degree Mason in the Little Flock Lodge, Negreet. He was a pipe fitter, and Hastings, Neb. resident for the past three years. He was in the Naval Reserve for 19 years. Services were held at 2 p.m., Feb. 8, at Butler-Volland Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rob Thorton officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date. Survivors include his widow, Charlotte Brittain of Hastings, Neb.; daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene and Robert Mavigliano of Hepseba, and Paul Rivers, all of Hastings, Neb.; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimothy Brittain of Hastings, Neb., Nary and Sommer Brittain of Kearney, Neb., and Terry and Diane Brittain of Hemphill, Texas; six grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, John and Mary Brittain of Many; sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Bruce Herndon of Shreveport; and sister-in-law, Marie Brittain of Many. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, James.
