All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Miss Beulah Lee Berly Services for Beulah Lee Berly, 91, of Marthaville, were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, in the First Baptist Church at Marthaville. The Rev. Bob Salley officiated. Burial followed at Marthaville Cemetery. Miss Berly died Wednesday, Nov. 1, at the Natchitoches Parish Hospital in Natchitoches. Miss Berly lived most of her life in the Marthaville Community, where she was a founding member of Crossroads Baptist Church, and a long time member of First Baptist Church of Marthaville. She faithfully served her church in many capacities, including Sunday School teacher, and Church Clerk. She worked for the U. S. Postal Service, and served as Post Mistress at the Marthaville Post Office until her retirement in March 1973. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Annie Ogden Berly; a brother, Clyde Berly; two sisters, Nellie Berly Barnhill, and Doris Berly Woodel. Survivors include three brothers, the Rev. George Clarence Berly of Beaumont, Texas, formerly of Marthaville, Robert Berly of Campti, and Edwin Berly of DeRidder; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were her nephews. Miss Berly lived an exemplary life in service to her family, her church, and the community in which she lived. She was a friend to everyone, and loved by a host of friends from Marthaville Community. Her family wishes to acknowledge with grateful appreciation, the loving care and attendance provided by her nieces, Joyce Crump, and Helen Barnhill, and numerous friends from the Marthaville community.
