Harvey Hoffman officiating. Burial followed in the Self Cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home in Leesville. Mr. Burleson, 63, of Hornbeck, passed away, Wednesday, May 1, in the Rapides General Hospital in Alexandria. He was born in Hornbeck, and was a retired Master Chief, US Navy, with service in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nancy Burleson; one son, Barry A. Burleson; and two brothers, Oscar and Benny Burleson. He is survived by his wife, Doris Brister Burleson of Hornbeck; three sons, Ronald W. Burleson of Marietta, Georgia, Johnnie P. Burleson Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama, Robert K. Burleson of Shreveport; two daughters, Sheryl B. Roach, and Darla B. Swanson, both of Pineville; two brothers, C. D. Burleson of Shreveport; two sisters, Lorena Stringer of Hornbeck, and Geneva Anderson of Stanley; and ten grandchildren.
