Brown 23 Jun 1933 - James L. Brown expired early Monday morning, following a stroke of paralysis Sunday afternoon. Funeral services were at the grave in Many cemetery Monday afternoon at five o'clock with Rev. J. Cude Rousseaux, pastor of the Many Methodist church, officiating. James was born July 16, 1890 at Canton, Miss., was formerly associated with the J. G. Brown Trading Co. Inc. in this city, later embarking in business on his own account in Many. For some time he had been making his home at Houston, Texas, but during the past several weeks was visiting with his sister, Mrs. W. E. Dillon at Recknor, where he was struck by paralysis Sunday afternoon at about five o'clock and expired early Sunday morning. Deceased is survived by two brothers, J. G. Brown, formerly of Many, and Dr. J. S. Brown of Canton, Miss.; four sisters, Mrs. Foot Garrett, Greensville, Miss., Mrs. J. E. Neal, Mobile, Ala., Mrs. Frank Hunter, Mansfield, and Mrs. W. E. Dillon, Many. J. G. Brown, Mrs. Frank Hunter, and Mrs. W. E. Dillon were present at the last rites.
