John R. Brown

  John R. Brown, 92, of Anacoco, died at 9:50 p.m., Tuesday, March
19, in Beuregard Memorial Hospital, DeRidder.

  He is survived by one son, Austin Brown of DeRidder; four
daughters, Mrs. Laura Spearing of West Lake, Mrs. Oza Leonard of
DeRidder, Mrs. Ivy Miller of Florien, and Mrs. A. B. Whitley of
Anacoco; two brothers, Dr. Howard Brown of Vernon, Tex., and
Lewis Brown of Leesville; four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Guy of
Shreveport, Mrs. Lou Bush of Leesville, Mrs. Ova Valentine of
Hanesville, and Mrs. Willie Mac Anderson of Kurthwood.

  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 24, in
Hixson Chapel, Leesville, with Rev. Chester McGinnis officiating.
Burial was in Mitchell Cemetery, Anacoco.
