He was a retired farmer, and worked for the Sabine Parish Highway Dept. He had been a Mason since 1917, with membership in the Mitchell Lodge. Services were at 2 p.m., Monday, in the Drewett Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Richard May officiating. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery, with Masonic graveside rites. Survivors are his widow; three sons, John T. Barron of Shreveport, Duncan O. Barron of Brighton, Colo., and Doyle F. Barron of U. S. Air Force, Guam; three daughters, Mrs. Manell Daniels of Mitchell, Mrs. Dorothy Morgan of Converse, and Mrs. Fredia Maschnig of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Brown of Benson, Mrs. Algean Barnhill of Converse, and Mrs. Irene Davis of Houston, Tex.; one brother, B. F. Barron of Oak Grove; 19 gradchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
