Mrs. Nellie Berna 
  
  A mass of Christian burial was conducted at St. Joseph Catholic 
Church in Zwolle Saturday, May 20, 2000 at 1 p.m. for Nellie 
Berna, 90, of Shreveport. Celebrating the mass was Father Juan 
Garcia. Burial followed in the St. Joseph Cemetery. 
  
  Mrs. Berna was born February 22, 1910 in Zwolle and passed away 
on Thursday, May 18 in Shreveport. 
  
  She was preceded in death by husbands, Steve L. Emanus Sr., and 
C. Berna; daughters, Beatrice Emanus and Dorothy Hoskins; one 
son, Steve L. Emanus Jr.; sisters, Ann Cooper and Bertha Colvin; 
brothers, Ed, George and Frank Lopez, and her mother, Ella 
Quarles. 
  
  Survivors include two sons, Calvin D. Emanus and wife, Jan of 
Dandridge, Tenn. and Joseph A. Emanus of Shreveport; one brother, 
Floyd Lopez and wife, June of Many; granddaughters, Nancy Black 
of Bakersfield, Calif., Nilene Horton of Mounds, Okla. and 
Stephanie Jackson of Sieverville, Tenn., eight 
great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
