James Brown

  James R. Brown, 84, of Converse, died Sunday, Nov. 6, at the
Veterans Administration Hospital, in Shreveport, after a lengthy
illness.

  Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, at the Fellowship Baptist
Church, with the Rev. Ray Penfield officiating. Burial was at the
Oak Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Drewett Funeral Home.

  He is survived by three sons, Donnie Brown of Shreveport, Jesse
Ramie of Houston, and W. C. Ramie of Lake Charles; two daughters,
Mrs. James Hudson of Sulphur, and Mrs. Richard LaVigne of
Shreveport; two brothers, Bruce Brown, and O. F., Brown of
Converse, and three grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
