Mr. Hollis Brown

  Mr. Hollis Brown, 87, of Hornbeck, died Monday, Aug. 21, 2000,
in the Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville.

  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 23, in
the First Baptist Church in Hornbeck, with interment to follow in
the Prewitts Chapel Cemetery. The Rev. Roy Dowden, and the Rev.
Jerry Key will officiate. Services were under the direction of
Hixson Funeral Home in Leesville.

  Mr. Brown was a native and lifelong resident of the
Hornbeck/Vernon Parish area, retired from the Louisiana
Department of Forestry, and was a member of the First Baptist
Church in Hornbeck.

  Survivors include one son, Kenneth Brown of Haughton; one
daughter, Murlene Cox of Hornbeck; 12 grandchildren; 25 great
grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
