Mrs. Jewel Brown

  Services for Mrs. Jewel Brown, 77, of Florien, were held Sunday,
March 23, 1986, at 2:30 p.m., at the Gum Springs Baptist Church
in Florien. Burial was in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Brothers
C. H. Welch, Doug Hilton, and Jeff Flenniken officiated.

  Mrs. Brown passed away, Friday, March 21, at 7:55 p.m., in the
Sabine Medical Center, Many. She is survived by her husband, Mr.
Homer Brown, Florien; one son, Homer Lynn Brown, Converse; three
daughters, Lucy Slaughter, Judith Killian, and Retha Rogers, all
of Florien; one step daughter, Charleen Westfall, Many; one
brother, William Lance Ellzey, Florien; six sisters, Gladys
Ashley, Blanchard, Pearl Sandel, Lufkin, Tex., Maxine Chance,
Serepta, La., Elaine Masters, Springhill, Beatrice Chance, Many,
Lois San Miguel, Hornbeck; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great
grandchildren.

  Services were under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral
Home.
