Brown, 81, of Shreveport, died on July 31, 1986, at her residence. A lifetime resident of Shreveport, Mrs. Brown was born in Hornbeck, and was a homemaker. She was a charter member of Life Tabernacle of Shreveport. Funeral services were held on Sunday, August 3, 1986, at 2:30 p.m., at Prewitt's Chapel in Hornbeck, with Rev. Tracy Boutlier, pastor of Calvary Temple, Marthaville, officiating. Burial was in Prewitt's Chapel Cemetery in Hornbeck, under the direction of Rose-Neath Southside. She was preceded in death by her husband, Young Brown. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Fronah Long, and Mrs. Ruth Hedges, both of Shreveport; four sisters, Mrs. Ollie Chance of Many, Nona Chance of Leesville, Lady McDaniel of Keithville, and Decie Thaxton of Florien; three brothers, Burley Jones of Anacoco, Elvin Jones of Bossier City, and Verdie Jones of Shreveport; eight grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were her grandsons.
