Brown - November 15, 1973 John Irwin Brown, 77, died Saturday, Nov. 10 in Jasper, Tex. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday in the Pruitts Chapel Church in Hornbeck with the Rev. I. D. Noble officiating, assisted by the Rev. Melvin Smith. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of the Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville. Survivors are his wife; one son, Vernon Brown of Leesville; eight daughters, Mrs. Addison Laurence of Florien, Mrs. Ralph Weed of Leesville, Mrs. Lee Laurence of Florien, Mrs. John Finley, Mrs. Talmadge Dew, Mrs. Paul Savell and Mrs. W. T. Baker, all of Leesville, Mrs. Jessie Mullins of Jasper, Tex.; two brothers, Jim Brown of Vinton and Earl Lee Brown of Oakdale; three sisters, Mrs. Heskihah Haymon of DeRidder, Mrs. Stafford Lanbright of Oakdale and Mrs. Lufkin Myers of Merryville; 32 grandchildren and 37 great granchildren.
