Mr. Max McLean Brown

  Mr. Max McLean Brown, age 96, passed away Sunday, Jan. 16, 1994,
at the Glen Retirement Village. Graveside services were held at
2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1994, under the direction of Warren
Meadows Funeral Home. Mr. Brown was born on March 16, 1897, in
Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Mr. Brown graduated from Arkansas College,
and served in the European theater of action during World War I,
with the United States Army. Thereafter, he returned to
Louisiana, where he was an officer and stockholder in Mansfield
Hardwood Lumber Company. For 40 years, he was active in civic and
community affairs, and received the Selective Service Medal Award
from President Harry Truman.

  He was an active deacon in the United Methodist Church of
Zwolle, La.

  Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Lee Kelley
Brown; his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Evander Dickson Brown of Stamps,
Arkansas; his sister, Margaret Brown Davis of Stamps, Arkansas;
and his granddaughter, Bonnie Lee Brown of Pensacola, Florida.
Mr. Brown is survived by a son, Charles Evander Brown of
Pensacola, Florida; and a daughter, Patricia Brown Key, and her
husband Robert M. Key Sr. of Shreveport, and by grandchildren,
Lisa Weldin Sirois, Aylmer Mitchell Weldin III, Kelley McLean
Weldin, Annette Key Mallard, and Steven Brown, as well as several
great grandchildren, and his nieces and nephews.

  The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to
Pam Patton, and the staff of the Glen Retirement Village, of
their loving care and support for the past several years.

  Pallbearers are Mitchell Weldin, Kelley Weldin, Lee Mallard, Dr.
Bill Hayme, Ed Huss, and Marshall Hudson.
