Mrs. Verona Brown

  Mrs. Verona Brown, age 74, a loving mother, grandmother, and
great grandmother, passed away Friday, Dec. 29, at Willis
Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport.

  She was preceded in death by her husband, T. D. Brown; her
parents; a son, Dyke Brown; a son-in-law, Jimmy Farmer; and a
great grandson, Mackenzie Shane Brown.

  Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 31, at Springridge
Baptist Church near Pleasant Hill, at 3:30 p.m., with Rev. Glyn
Mixon, and Rev. Raymond Alford officiating. Burial was in the
church cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral
Home.

  Survivors are four children, Patricia Smith, Mike Brown and wife
Betty, Corliss McElwee, and Shannon Britt and husband Raleigh,
all of Marthaville; three sisters, Perry Lee Brazil of
Marthaville, Gwen Hill of Humble, Tex., and Mavis Currie of
Houston, Tex.; one brother, Gale Green of Marthaville; nine
grandchildren, Jeff and Deb Farmer, Jodie and Russell Garcie,
Jill Johnson, Stacy and Tim Neely, Shane and Kayla Brown, Archie
McElwee, Misty McElwee, Wade Britt, and Rusty Britt; five great
grandchildren, Tori Farmer, Jacolby Garcie, Ashton Neely, Tiffany
Neely, and Katelyn Brown; numerous nieces, and nephews, and close
friends.

  Pallbearers were Hulon Sistrunk, Alfice Brumley, Glen Brown,
David Garcie, Charles Brown, Doyline Brown, Floyd Terrell Jr.,
Kenneth Terrell, and Bernice Green.
