All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Bessie Brown Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Brown, 81, who died in Shreveport Sunday, May 5, after a brief illness, were held Wednesday, May 8, in the chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. James W. Middleton, pastor of the First Baptist Church, and the Rev. David George, associate pastor, officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Brown is survived by one son, Corlis R. Brown, Lompoc, Calif.; two brothers, O. E. Williams, and J. E. Williams, both of Hickory, N. C.; and eight sisters, Mrs. C. A. Penny, and Mrs. E. C. Ruddick, both of Shreveport, Mrs. J. E. Wyatt, Chatham, Mrs. O. L. DeWitt, and Mrs. A. DeWitt, both of Zwolle, Mrs. Julie Stinson, and Mrs. J. T. Washburn, both of Verda, and Mrs. Henry Cox, Montgomery. Pallbearers, all nephews of Mrs. Brown, were Doyle Dewitt, Roy Wyatt, Joe Jackson, Willard DeWitt, and W. H. Briethaupt.
