  Services for Mr. James A. Brown, were held at St. Joseph's
Catholic Church in Zwolle on Saturday, March 23, at 2 p.m., with
Father David Richter officiating. Interment followed in St.
Joseph Cemetery.

  Mr. Brown was born on Jan. 18, 1929, in Guin, Ala., and moved to
Hamilton, Miss., at an early age, where he attended school, and
worked on farms, until he enlisted in the U. S. Army. He was
later transferred to the U. S. Air Force. He served as a medic
during the Korean conflict, received an honorable discharge as
staff sergeant, and was a member of the Air Force reserves until
1965.

  Mr. Brown worked at the Overton Brooks VA Hospital, as an x-ray
technician, until he became involved in the service station
business, and later opened his own business, Modern Paint and
Body Works in Shreveport. In 1976, he moved to Zwolle, and
operated Jams Brown Body Shop until his retirement in 1988. He
then had time to enjoy his favorite hobbies, fishing, gardening,
and especially hunting. He overcame heart bypass surgery in 1977,
and a stroke in 1994, but still pursued the activities he enjoyed
most. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zwolle. He
was a loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and
will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

  Survivors include his widow, Janet Brown of Converse; two sons,
Jimmy, and Phillip Brown of Bellevue, Wash., Amy Lesko and
husband Matt, Karah, Sarah, and Hunter Brown; one great
grandchild, Noah Lesko, all of Shreveport; one brother, Lamon
Brown of Amory, Miss.; six sisters, Myrt Schaffer of Forney,
Texas, Dorothy Rominger of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Faye Waldon,
and Carolyn Thornhill, both of Rolling Fork, Miss., Shelby Chism
of Amory, Miss., and Delores Bird of Aberdeen, Miss.; special
friend, Anthony Ebarb of Noble; father and mother-in-law, Cleve
and Theresa Sepulvado of Noble; several brothers and
sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of
friends.

  He was preceded in death by his parents, James Connie, and
Carrie Dupree Brown; and one brother, Charles Brown.

  Pallbearers were Cleve Sepulvado Jr., Larry E. Sepulvado,
Anthony Ebarb, Phillip Garcie, Jonathon Cartinez, and Shane
Sepulvado. Honorary pallbearers were his caregivers, Joel Garcie,
Brenda Ebarb, Stacey "Boo" Ebarb, and Bridget Patrick.

  Until We Meet Again

  How blessed is the tie that binds
  Our hearts in lasting love,
  The comradeship of kindred minds,
  Is like to that above,
  So when at last we have to part,
  In sorrow, and in pain,
  We know we still are joined in heart,
  Until we meet again.
