Brown Funeral services were held Monday, March 15, for Jessie James Brown, 70, who passed away at his home, after a long illness, Saturday, March 13. The Rev. H. H. Tibbetts, and the Rev. Johnnie Crocker officiated at the services, which were held in the Trinity Baptist Church. Interment was in the Ft. Jesup Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Pallbearers were James Stringer, C. J. Miller, Alvin Montgomery, Frank Johnson, Chris Rials, and J. C. Byrd. Survivors include wife, Mrs. J. J. Brown of Many; four sons, Edward L. Brown of Shreveport, Glen Brown of Texarkana, Ark.; two stepsons, U. J. Strickland of Robeline, and Eugene Woodle of Buras; three daughters, Mrs. Eleven Miller of Many, Mrs. Lucille Sewlerd of Texarkana, and Mrs. Stanley Fletcher of Houston; three brothers, Grady Brown of Texarkana, Ark., Percy Brown of Garland City, Ark., and M. J. Brown of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. Pauline Baker of Fouke, Ark., Mrs. Dollie McGee of Dallas, and Mrs. Lessie Vincent of Bearden, Ark.; 35 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
