Rev. C. E. Holmes officiated, assisted by Rev. Leroy Chance, and Rev. Robert Graham. Interment was in the church cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home. Mrs. Brown died Sunday, Aug. 12, at the Leesville Clinic, after a long illness. She was 83 years old. She is survived by two daughters, Miss Minnie Brown of Hornbeck, and Mrs. Don Fleagle of Columbus, Ohio; eight sons, William, Otto, Lois, Oram, Lewis, all of Hornbeck, M. Sgt. Verdia Brown, U. S. A. F. of Wichita, Texas, T. Sgt. Perry Brown, U. S. A. F., Plattsburg, N. Y., and Johnnie Ray of Barksdale; one brother, J. Claborn Corley, Glen Mora; four sisters, Mrs. R. C. Slay of Hornbeck, Mrs. Jessie Brown of Florien, Mrs. J. F. Williams, and Mrs. David Brown of DeRidder; 25 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
