Brown, age 47 years, passed away of a heart attack while visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Brown of Toro, La. He died on the way to Fraser Hospital on Oct. 27th. Ray served his country in World War II under General George S. Patton, was wounded twice. After the war he was married to Miss Cleo Baker of Port Arthur, Texas. They were living in Groves, Texas, and he worked for Texas Oil Co. at the time of his death. Survivors are his wife, Cleo; four sons, Donald Ray, Norman Dean, Curtis, and Larry of Groves, Texas; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Brown of Toro, La.; four sisters, Mrs. Gracie Evans of Fisher, La., Mrs. Edna Weldon of Florien, La., Mrs. Hazel Lucius of Toro, La., and Mrs. Alice Holder of Shreveport, La.
