Services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 1988 in Scotland United Methodist Church in Telfair County. Burial was in Telfair Memorial Gardens; the Rev. David Blalock officiated. A native of Negreet, La., Mrs. Barnes lived in Telfair County since 1923. She was a member of Scotland Baptist Church and a homemaker. Survivors include three sons, H. B. Barnes of McRae, Curtis Barnes and Don Barnes, both of Macon, two daughters, Emogene Daniel of Cuthbert and Nancy McDonald of Savannah, a sister, Ester Wright of Many, La., a brother, Norman Curtis of Many; 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Lowe's Funeral Home in Helena was in charge of arrangements.
