Barnes Funeral services were held for Ellen G. Barnes, 72, at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 8, at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Many, La. Officiating was the Rev. Clois Rogers. Interment followed in the Negreet Cemetery. Ellen G. Barnes died at 2:30 a.m., Saturday, June 1. She was born August 18, 1919, at Negreet, La., and had been a resident of Many. Ellen Barnes was a member of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Many, La. She is preceded by four of her children in death. She is survived by her husband Woodrow W. Barnes Sr.; three sons, Woodrow Barnes Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif., Hayward Barnes, and James Dennis Barnes of Houston, Tex.; seven daughters, Sarah Holbert of San Angelo, Tex., Shirley Perkins of Los Angeles, Calif., Sophronia Williams, Mary Haynes, Debra Thomas, Sandra Wysinger, and Ruth Gosey, all of Many, La.; 42 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; four brothers, Rev. Curtis Gosey of DeRidder, La., Naboth Gosey of Inglewood, Calif., Roscoe Gosey of Los Angeles, Calif., and Lewis Gosey of El Paso, Tex.; three sisters, Ruth Martin, Dicy Cook, and Hazel Green, all of Los Angeles, Calif.; and a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
