All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Jimmie Carl Barnes Jimmie Carl Barnes, 24, of Shreveport, died at 6:11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 29, in the emergency room of Doctors Hospital, from injuries suffered in an auto accident near Leesville. Leesville city police said Barnes lost control of his auto at the intersection of state highways 171 and 117 in the city limits. The car overturned and rolled over three times, landing on the victim, police said. He was treated at a clinic after the 2:15 a.m. accident, and then transferred to Doctors Hospital by Hixson Bros. Ambulance of Leesville. Mr. Barnes was a welder with Barnwell Drilling Co. of Shreveport. He was a native of Natchitoches, and had lived in Shreveport for 21 years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ellen Barnes of Shreveport; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Barnes of Shreveport; one son, Jeffery Carl Barnes of Shreveport; one brother, Ray Manasco of Many; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lucy Everett of Zwolle. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 30, in Rose-Neath Funeral Home, with the Rev. William O'Hanlan, pastor of St. Teresa's Catholic Church, officiating.
