Houston Branch, 88, of Route one, Rayville, were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 13, at the Zebedee Baptist Church, with the Rev. S. B. Boyette, the Rev. E. N. Weaver, and the Rev. E. L. Weeks officiating. Burial was in the Greer Cemetery, under the direction of Gay's Funeral Home of Delhi. The Rev. Branch died Tuesday morning, Jan. 12, at his residence, after a long illness. Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Truie Gibson of Provencal, Mrs. Lois Austin of Shreveport, Mrs. Eloise Austin of Vinson, Mrs. Media Bray of Zwolle, Mrs. Maude Lee of Rayville, and Mrs. Leta Cain of Rayville; six sons, Charlie Branch of Port Neches, Tex., George Branch of Many, Wallace Branch of DeRidder, Jeff Branch, and Hugh Branch, both of Rayville, and Elliott Branch of Columbia; a sister, Mrs. Mamie Tubbs of Bossier City; 37 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Pallbearers were L. D. Austin, Alton Austin, Walter Lee, Nolan Cain, Kermit Bray, and Herbert Harrell.
