Barnhill 2 Aug 1957 - After a long illness Charlie P. Barnhill passed away July 27 at 10 a.m. in Shreveport, He had been a long resident of Natchitoches parish and was better known as Trottier or Shortie Barnhill. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 28 at Beulah Methodist church. Officiating were Rev. Sattlers, P. O. Green Cremwell, Chance - under the direction of Blanchard Funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Fannie Dans Barnhill, five daughters and five sons, Rueben of Baytown, Texas, Hubert, Sonnie, and Jerry Marthaville, Clive of Natchitoches; Mrs. Billie Jay Dean of Winnfield; Tommie Lou Jordan of Orange, Texas, Ruthie of Marthaville, Alice of El Dorado, Ark., Dorothy, Utah, three brothers and one sister, Mrs. Macy Coleman, Shreveport; Emerson Barnhill, Mansfield, Ligie of Natchitoches; 26 grandchildren and one great grandchild and a large number of relatives and friends. He was loved by everyone.
